Every few months I get the itch to buy some new workout clothes – yes, I’m one of those women who gets a bit of motivation to get moving out of having some nice new outfits to exercise in – my husband thinks that’s just an excuse to go shopping but it really does motivate me!
I usually stick to normal tights and singlets, nothing high tech at all. This time around, I had a gift voucher for Amazon that needed to be used so thought I’d check out their workout clothes and see if they had anything decent. I get to the active tights page and see the Delfin Spa Bio Ceramic Anti Cellulite Capris with about a 4.5 star rating from over 400 reviews. One, they got me at the words ‘anti cellulite‘ and I’m wondering how on earth a pair of pants can help with cellulite. Two, I’m wondering what are all these other women loving so much about these high tech sounding pants that I’m missing out on?
My legs and bum have always been my ‘problem area’. I’m a pear shape and carry any extra weight in my thighs and butt, and have always had cellulite to some degree since my early twenties. Even though I’m fairly happy with the weight I’m at now, I would definitely like to lose a little extra from my thighs and butt, tone them up some more and smooth out my skin in these areas. Since losing 16lbs (7 kilos), my cellulite has improved dramatically but I still have a little and the skin on my thighs and side of my butt isn’t as taught/smooth as I’d like so you can see why these really grabbed my attention.
So what’s all the fuss about these Delfin Spa Anti Cellulite pants?
If you take a look at the full description of the pants from Delfin Spa here, you can see they claim a number of benefits that the pants have. I was interested in these two things:
- Made with 1.5mm neoprene embedded with Bio-Ceramic material that effectively helps to reduce visible cellulite and helps with water and toxin reduction
- Increased heat and molecular stimulation enhances effectiveness of exercise, increases blood flow, and may result in increased calorie burning
I was a little skeptical at these claims, but such a high rating from so many people on Amazon had to count for something. From reading through many of the reviews, it was fairly clear that these capris do the job for alot of women who are happy with them, so I had to give them a go.
My experience with them
Based on what I’d read in the reviews about the sizes running large, I ordered a size smaller than I normally buy. Glad I did this – the smaller size fits really well. Next, I love how these look on. The waist is nice and high, the leg length is flattering and best of all – the thick fabric holds everything in really well and gives the smooth ‘anti cellulite’ appearance I was really hoping they’d actually provide.
Ok so they look good, but how comfortable are they to work out in?
They feel like any other pair of tights I’d normally wear to work out in, only difference is these are a bit noisy. But I was fully expecting that based on the number of people who mentioned the ‘swoosh’ sound in their reviews.
Next difference – these really do make you sweat like they are supposed to! I’ve had these for a week and have been doing my usual workout routine each day, and my legs are really dripping in sweat by the end.
Have I noticed a difference in my legs since wearing these tights?
I’ve only had these for a bit over a week now and have worn them for 6 workouts. It’s a pretty short amount of time to really report on, but I have noticed an improvement in the smoothness of the skin on my thighs and butt. Given that I don’t have alot of weight left to lose off my legs, any change will be slow so I’ll report back on that progress in a few weeks.
I’m stoked with the improvement in my skin tone that I’ve seen so far and have ordered a second pair – I’ll be wearing these for every workout and really wish I’d noticed them sooner. I sure would have appreciated the jiggly bits on my legs and bum being held in and my cellulite being covered up by these when I first started my weight loss journey instead of wearing a long daggy t-shirt!
